My Hour of Torture

Have you ever had a bad shopping trip with your kids? Well, I bet if you went to the store with my kids and I you would feel better! So, we had to go to the store yesterday afternoon. I waited until Camden was out of school so that I wouldnt feel rushed. What was I thinking? We get to the store and all the kids help me find a cart. We walk into the store and Camden and Riley are holding on the cart and in my head I was thinking, "well, this should go pretty smooth". WRONG! Riley darts from the cart to the fruits section. He starts pulling various apples from the shelves asking to put them in the cart. "No", I say. So, he starts whining "Why?". I picked up the celery I needed and quickly we moved on. In the cheese section Riley announces to everyone in the store "I am going to lick all the cheese". I dash as fast as I can, but I didnt make it and I have to pry a laughing cow package out of his teeth (it left teeth marks). SIGH!! In the milk section Riley announces that he has to go "poops"--AHHHHHHH make me disappear!! You notice that I am only mentioning Riley, but Camden just made it more intense by following Riley's lead. So, when we were in the section where the toilet paper is located and Riley found a couple packages stacked on the bottom shelf he sat down and said, "Camden, look a couch". Camden dived head first into the packages making them explode into the isle. At this point I am threatening them with a lifetime in their room and hoping that I wont have a heart attack in the middle of the store, but they dont care and proceed to pick up anything they can get their hands on. Riley even picked up the toblerone display at the end of one isle and if I hadnt got to him in time there would have been candy bars everywhere. The last treat of this trip was when I was checking out. I unloaded my grocerys and noticed that Camden had slipped away. I looked around and two shopping lanes away there was my son behind the counter screaming "how can I help you". LAST TIME I swear I will ever take my kids to the grocery store!!!!

What the....

So the boys must hit the top corner wall of the stairs- every time they pass it with whatever they have and after time that begins to take a toll on the wall.... how do I get them to understand?!

More Not so Annonomous artwork-

Behind the "throne" in my bathroom~

And I guess he started realizing he may have been giving himself away by writing his name all over everything- so now I have new marks on things- X's!!

My bedroom door

His bedroom door....

Clubhouse?

This looks like it maybe a clubhouse, but no it is under our kitchen table- I will give you 1 guess as to who the author is- the same guy who wrote his name on the arm of my couch and in the carpet with a true permanent pen~ and lately he has taken to marking doors and walls with an X- why? I don't know!!

Crunch

This was done by shoving the coffee table with a little too much force into the wall- we have fixed it once with plaster- but when we still have the same coffee table, and kids who love to move it around......

Anyone know how to fix a broken corner?

Robinhood???

Dalton has come home form school the past few days with broken crayons~ he said half of each crayon is for me to put in our crayon box- and the other half of each crayon is for Grandma to put in her Primary crayon box (She is Dal's Primary teacher). I asked him where they came from, and he made up a story about someone getting their Flat Stanley back and the generous soul gave each person an old paperless crayon- what do you do when your child lies about something so dumb!?!?!? So I guess the good thing is that he knew it was wrong? Anyway- I am dubbing this post Robinhood because he took them for someone else--- !!!

Playroom

We have a playroom in our crawlspace that desperately needs to be cleaned out~ it is tall enough for the boys to stand up in~ so they have fun- during JTs birthday party however, one of the 19 kids that were here found the door that leads to the storage part of our crawl space~ they BROKE the door in half!!!! Great- now we get to make a new one!!!

Wallpaper.....

I came downstairs last week to find this- apparently Chase found a new way to pass the the time- Let's rip off the wall paper!!!! AHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!

Digging for Dinosaur Bones!

If I kept my camara around my neck all day long I could definately fill up this blog. My kids always seem to find trouble! These pictures are from last year, but I need to share.
My mom had come over and we were going through a box of clothes that I was going to send to my sister. My kids had been watching a video about dinosaurs when they suddenly felt adventurous. They grabbed some spoons, pens, and notebooks and went out to the backyard. On the deck I had a big pot FULL of potting soil for some herbs that I was planning to plant. With spoons in hand they began digging in it to see if they could find dinosaur bones. They dug and dug and dug. NO BONES! I came out just in time to find them covered in potting soil and sitting on the pot recording their findings. I was speechless and decided instead of freaking out (which took a lot of effort) I would take pictures.

I'll start us off-

I WISH I had a picture of the time Dalton poured 2 containers of lighter fluid all over our car that was parked in the garage. Thankfully it was summer and it all dissipated on its own. Or the time he colored with Crayola non washable markers on the carpet. But since those great times I have learned my lesson~ and to start off this great blog I have a few pictures.

Imagine a little Geo Prizm, and 2 large bottles of lighter fluid.

Last year when Dal was in Kindergarten his teacher called home one day and said "Nancy- I am sorry to tell you Dalton made a bad choice today at school" She went on to explain that while they were on the 'carpet' during story time Dal was in the back and she could hear him scratching on the carpet- when she was done reading the story she realized he wasn't scratching at all but had a red crayon and was grinding it into the yellow carpet. I don't have a picture of the yellow carpet with the scarlet "wrong choice" but below is a picture of the gifts he gave to the custodian for cleaning it and to his teacher, with their favorite drinks and candy bars in it- and yes, he spent his own money to pay for it and wrote I am sorry notes.

This next one is Tommy (dirty) and JT (oddly enough~ clean) at Camp Liahona summer 2006~ Notice the muddy tear on Tommys cheek.

Does this LOOK like a place to play!
This is how I learned that Chase could feed himself ~ here he is a year ago- after he grabbed Dal's leftover oatmeal off of the table. He's fed himself ever since!!
